We initiated communication with the Presidents of Vanza and Darji Gnati in Diu informing of the commencement of Diu Vanza Darji Samaj UK via formal letters sent on Monday, the 28th of November, 2016. The aim of this was to get the blessings and support of the elders from Vanza and Darji Gnati in Diu.
Our Constitution, the list of appointed committee members and the minutes of meetings were sent out to both the Presidents in Diu. We requested their acknowledgement and support for our cause. Furthermore, our Constitution, minutes of meetings and the list of appointed members were read out at the Vanza community meeting on Sunday, the 18th of December, 2016 and our efforts have been greatly appreciated and applauded by the community back home. On behalf of the community in Diu, the President, Mr. Vasant Aridas Jethwa, has wished us well and also sent us a letter to the same effect as well.
We also received words of encouragement and gratitude for our whole community for working selflessly towards this process to establish a social and cultural platform for our wider community, especially our younger generation. The President of Darji Gnati, Mr. Virendralal Chunilal Gohil, has also sent us a written acknowledgement.
