DVDSUK Diwali Party

On November 6, 2016 we held our first event to celebrate the first Diwali after the formation of our Samaj, Diu Vanza Darji Samaj UK.

This event was possible thanks to the unconditional support of some of our members, notably Shreemati Parul, Shreemati Babita, Shreeman Nitin and Shreeman Dipac. As already announced in the Diwali message this event had originally been scheduled for a private party to be held by the same as it has been held every year. However, this year they have offered this event to the Samaj and for that reason they deserve to be applauded.

The event was held in Wembley at Sunlounge Banqueting and had the participation of more than 170 adults and 25 children, aged between 6-12 years. A few infants were also present.

Mr. Nitin Jasvantalal and Mr. Dipac Canacsinh collected the funds from the guests at the entrance.

Mr. Pradip Vassantlal delivered the Diwali speech in Gujarati on behalf of the President. The logo and the denomination of our Samaj designed by Mr. Pradip Vassantlal were hung onto the wall and were also well appreciated.

The event was accompanied by performances of live music brought to the audience by singers hired for the purpose that practically filled the whole afternoon with music and dance.

A host of singing and musical performances by Vishal Nitin, Sunit Nitin, Bhavesh Pratap, Jaydeep Jitendra, Urmi Nanalal and Pradip Vassantlal were also largely appreciated.

The starters were served at the beginning followed by the buffet for lunch.

Nuno Dhiren volunteered to take photographs for the event. Mr. Dhiren Mugatlal volunteered to video shoot the event.

We also made the sale of raffles for prizes that were sponsored, in vouchers of £100 and £50, by a jewellery shop, Raj Jewels in Wembley.

We had the presence of Mr. Ravi Sharma, the announcer on Lyca Radio, at the invitation of Mr. Dhiren Mugatlal, who entertained our guests during his humorous speech at the event.

The cost of the event was borne by the participants, £16 for adults and £10 for children.

The event ended at 18:00 as planned and culminated with a warm dismissal with appeals from everyone present, for another event for the coming year.
